Insurance
Dr.
Dundas is not currently a provider on insurance panels. He
can help you to get reimbursement from your insurance
company by giving you an invoice after your visit. This
invoice containing CPT and Diagnostic codes that you can
submit to your insurance company so that they will know
what services you were provided. You should contact your
insurance company ahead of coming to your first visit to
see how much they will reimburse you for seeing an out of
network provider. Sometimes insurance companies will agree
to pay an in-network rate, if you document that you have
contacted several psychiatrists in your area who are not
currently taking patients. Dr. Dundas will submit any
paperwork needed to make it easier for your insurance
company to reimburse you.

Your First
Appointment
When you
call Dr. Dundas will listen to what your needs, talk to
you about the practice, and if appropriate schedule a
first meeting. At the first meeting, all you need to
bring is yourself. There will be paperwork that Dr. Dundas
will give you to fill out and return.
Dr. Dundas
will meet you for 1 hour and 20 minutes and conduct a
diagnostic evaluation. This extended time period gives you
a chance to meet Dr. Dundas and ask any questions you
might have. He will listen to your life story and hear
about the current issues that need attention. At the end,
he will give you an introductory assessment that will help
you decide if Dr. Dundas can help you or if an outside
referral may be more helpful to you.
After this
assessment is complete, a treatment agreement may be
mutually agreed upon. Dr. Dundas may recommend
individual/family psychotherapy and/or a careful trial of
a medication. He will also tell you about medical and
social service follow up that he recommends, if necessary,
for a comprehensive evaluation.
Policies
For twenty minute
medication management visits, please call at least 24
hours in advance for any visit cancellation. Missed
visits without any notice given will be billed in full
as the visit time was set aside. Insurance companies may
not reimburse you for a missed visit fee.
Fifty minute psychotherapy times are especially hard to
change as the time is reserved for you week after week.
If you are seeing Dr. Dundas for psychotherapy visits,
please tell him at least one week prior to any missed
visit. If he is able to fill your time
with another visit or reschedule you at a different time
in the week, it will not be billed. If, however, he is
unable to do so, you are responsible for the payment
given the special reserved nature of psychotherapy
visits and the meaning that can be associated with
missed visits.
Please remember to bring all prescription requests to
your visit. Extra prescription requests outside of visit
times will not be charged initially unless it becomes a
pattern at which time a 25 dollar fee will be added for
prescription requests outside of visit times.
Rates are subject to increase by the annual rate of
inflation every April.

crisis team at (413) 499-0412. They are available 24
